Everyone wore their finest attire, transporting us back to 1926 : the year it all began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The evening opened with a speech by Thomas Windisch, President of the 2025\u20132026 Residents\u2019 Committee, who reminded us that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><em>\u201cThis centennial is therefore not only a celebration of the past. It is a bridge. A bridge between 1926 and today. A bridge between Canada and France. A bridge between the generations of students who have been, who are, and who will be. Tonight, as we launch the celebrations of these one hundred years, we pay tribute to a house that has never ceased to be alive.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:19px\" at the Embassy of Canada<\/em>, highlighted the importance and cultural significance of having our Canadian House in France.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-primary-beige-background-color has-background\"><strong><strong><meta charset=\"utf-8\"><strong><strong><meta charset=\"utf-8\"><strong><strong>Mr. Marc-Andr\u00e9 Allard<\/strong>, <\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>Political Affairs and Cooperation Advisor at the&nbsp;<em>Qu\u00e9bec Delegation in Paris<\/em>, spoke about the special bond between Qu\u00e9bec and France and the role an institution like ours plays in maintaining it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div the House, taking us through the past while propelling us toward the future.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-primary-beige-background-color has-background\"><strong><strong><meta charset=\"utf-8\"><strong><strong><meta charset=\"utf-8\"><strong><strong><meta charset=\"utf-8\"><strong><strong><meta charset=\"utf-8\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Mr. Jean-Marc Sauv\u00e9<\/strong>,&nbsp;<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><em>President of the National Foundation of the Cit\u00e9 Internationale Universitaire de Paris (CIUP)<\/em>, reminded us of CIUP\u2019s mission of openness to the world and how the MEC has contributed profoundly to this over the past presenting the four flagship projects and the official program of activities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:32px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4>How Were the News Shared in 1926?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Following this question, newsboys entered the room to deliver the special edition of the newspaper&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/feed\/update\/urn:li:ugcPost:7424475389583986688\/?originTrackingId=dgTf6DgnHpwTJlBI6tEitQ%3D%3D\">Les \u00c9chos de la MEC<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inside, readers could find descriptions of all the creations and events planned for our anniversary, along with editorials, games, and small columns.
