This July marks an important milestone for the Maison des Étudiants Canadiens: we are paying tribute to two women whose commitment has profoundly shaped our daily lives.
France Mainville, director of the MEC for the past five years, celebrated her arrival in 2020 under very unusual circumstances: in the midst of a pandemic. From the outset, she has faced the situation with calm and determination, steering the house through uncertainty while instilling new momentum. With vision, attentiveness, high standards, and humanity, France has accompanied the MEC to the threshold of its centennial with conviction and ambition.
Ilham, who has been with the organization for 25 years now, embodies the living memory of the MEC. Starting out as a weekend temp, over the years she has become a familiar and reassuring face for hundreds of residents. Known and loved by all, she has remained a constant, warm, and professional presence throughout the years. Her career is a rare testament to loyalty and heart.
Two journeys, two stories, one shared passion for this unique home. This July, we thank them—for their presence, their commitment, and everything they bring to the community every day.
