Common areas

The common areas of MEC include four kitchens, two outdoor terraces, a study and computer room, a multi-purpose living room (including a TV), a concert hall, two piano practice studios, a laundry room, a luggage room, a bicycle room and an area for trash cans and recycling.


The House has four kitchens with cook tops, an oven, kettle, toaster and a microwave. A personal locker with a key corresponding to the resident’s room number is assigned to each to store his things (dishes, food, etc.).

The Terraces

Two terraces, one on the front side and the other on the back of the MEC, are available to the residents. They have chairs, tables, as well as two BBQ for the terrace on the back of the House.

Ostiguy Area

The Ostiguy area, in the center of MEC on the first floor, consists of a combination study and computer room, the front terrace and the kitchen adjoining the terrace. There also is a copier/ printer.

The Living Rooms

There are two living rooms available for the residents:

Wilson Room
Located near the reception, it is used as concert hall, theatre hall and meeting room. The director’s authorization is needed to use the Wilson Room.

Located near the administrative offices, it is used as a multipurpose room (it has a TV).

Laundry room

Two washing machines and two dryers are located in the basement. The laundry room is open nonstop. Drying is free and an iron and ironing board are available to residents (for priority in using these facilities it is necessary to reserve a place at the reception).
