The House of Canadian Students has the status of a public-interest foundation in France.

This public interest foundation (FRUP) is intended to operate and maintain the House of Canadian Students under the terms of a gift deed with conditions to the University of Paris, under the Cité internationale universitaire in Paris.

The Foundation is administered by a board of 11 members and chaired by His Excellency, The Ambassador of Canada in Paris. In addition to the Ambassador, the Board of Directors includes representatives of the Canada Committee (Founders’ College), ex-officio members such as the Rector Chancellor of the University of Paris, the president and general deputy of the Cité internationale (Ex-officio Members College), as well as qualified members, such as Quebec’s Delegate General in Paris and the president of the Committee of the House residents (Qualified People College).
